The New Op`ra, Moscow, Production (staged by Yuri Alexandrov, `Una furtiva lagrima` (Nemorino`s Romanza) Sung by Mikhail Gubsky, a wonderful Russian tenor going on stage in the performance in his quilted jacket, wearing his kersey boots and earflapped fur hat. Why is it so? Just because it`s snowing on the stage, and, after all, it`s simply zany and hype. And it happens in Russia rather than in Italy. Besides, it`s a duty of every Russian to support the national stereotypes while practising bel canto!
